Hello Lovely People,
It's blog time! Feels like 4 day weeks have as much work as a 5 day week and less time to do it... but we made it to the weekend. Don't know about you but I'm ready for a cocktail!
This week we launched a brand new service delivering our boozy bakes locally in Churwell and Morley. We have 4 decedent products to choose from and available to order on our website or through direct message on any of our socials. While we still specialise in events and pairing delicious cocktails with our cakes but we didn't want to restrict customers to just a one off experience with The Bake Bar.
Ultimately, we want to launch this as a national service, with cakes to any door in the UK but we're still working through how to do this in the most eco friendly way possible to fit our ethos. Currently the only solution that we have found to do this involves a lot of plastic packaging which we don't agree with but we'll keep working on it and hopefully we will have an eco-solution soon!
It's always exciting launching a new product but another exciting part of this week is that I attended a Networking event in Leeds run by People Plus and HSBC. Not only did I meet some really inspiring individuals running small businesses, I also left full of energy and ideas about what's next for The Bake Bar. I just need to write them all down now before I forget!
Being amongst this wonderful group of people reminded me that while it can feel lonely running your own business, you're never really alone. There are thousands of entrepreneurs across the country building brilliant businesses and providing valuable services and products to their communities. Networking is just about connecting with people and seeing how we can all help each other achieve our goals and I'm so pleased to have added some wonderful people and businesses to my network today.
So, I guess I owe a big thank you to HSBC and People Plus for running the event and helping us all build more connections in the community.
